FBI Seattle launches Operation Winter Shield to combat rising cyber threats

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The FBI Seattle Field Office has launched Operation Winter Shield, a national cybersecurity initiative designed to strengthen defenses against increasing cyber threats.
The campaign encourages the public and businesses to take ten key steps to secure their networks and protect sensitive data.
I spoke with W. Mike Herrington, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Seattle, about the growing threat of cyberattacks that can target anyone from anywhere worldwide.
The FBI is sharing tips to improve incident response for cyber attack victims and offering guidance on how to protect sensitive information. FBI Seattle says they want to build a direct relationship with the community and hear from individuals experiencing cyber attacks.
